Spotlight Interactive Reaches the Heart of British television

The BBC recently renewed its subscription to Spotlight’s Internet casting services, signing a new three-year deal.

Spotlight Interactive will continue to appear on the desktop of every BBC employee, giving instant access to Spotlight’s database of over 30,000 artists, whose details are kept up-to-date on a daily basis.

Production teams at the BBC will have full use of The Spotlight Link, Spotlight’s cutting-edge breakdown service, to send casting briefs to leading UK agents. The Spotlight Link is the quickest and easiest way to send out casting breakdowns, and to receive immediate suggestions in return. With over 400 breakdowns sent every month, it has revolutionized a process which once involved lengthy hours of faxing, phoning and chasing.

As part of the package, the BBC will have access to the Spotlight Specialists database, listing behind-camera specialists including directors, choreographers, designers, casting directors and fight directors.

Ben Seale of the Spotlight comments:

“We are delighted that the BBC has chosen to continue its successful partnership with The Spotlight. Every year, a fantastic variety of TV and radio work is generated for Spotlight artists through BBC productions spanning drama, documentary, comedy, news and entertainment. We look forward to another three years of working together.”

Over 1,500 artist searches are already generated via the BBC every day, and this number is predicted to grow since Spotlight will be running several tutorial sessions for BBC employees as part of the partnership between the two companies.
