The Spotlight website was re-designed in 2004 to incorporate the latest internet standards and browser technology. Consequently, some older browser software may have problems displaying certain pages on our site. We recommend the following browsers to ensure optimum compatibility with our online services. We've done our best to make sure that the public-facing pages are viewable on any system, but Spotlight Interactive users in particular are strongly advised to upgrade to the most recent version of their preferred browser software.
Microsoft Windows (95, 98, NT, 2000, XP)
If you're using Microsoft Windows, we recommend upgrading to one of the following browsers:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 7
- Any browsers based on the Mozilla project, including
- Mozilla Firefox
- Netscape 7 or higher
- Opera 8
Apple Mac with MacOS X
For users running MacOS X and above on the Apple Mac, we recommend the following browsers:
- Apple Safari (the standard browser on MacOS X)
- Mozilla Camino
Note that CV notes and some other forthcoming features require either Camino or Safari 1.2 on MacOS 10.3
Apple Mac with MacOS 9
Users on MacOS 9 should use the most up-to-date version of Microsoft Internet Explorer, which is version 5.2 at the time of writing. Some interactive features, such as CV Notes, are not supported on this browser. Subscribers to Spotlight Interactive are strongly advised to upgrade to MacOS X to get the most out of our online services.
Other Platforms
Our site code is based on XHTML 1.1 and CSS level 2. You should get good results with any browser software which has support for these standards. If you're using a non-visual browser (such as a screen reader or Braille system) we'd love to hear from you - please contact us and let us know what you think.
Note for Netscape 4.x users
Netscape version 4 is no longer supported, due to serious incompatibilities between this browser and modern internet standards. Our public pages should be accessible to people using Netscape 4, but Spotlight Interactive and our other interactive systems such as the Spotlight Shop may not work correctly. We recommend you upgrade to one of the browsers listed above.
